"Professional, Pretty Cakes"

star star star star star

I absolutely love this product, it is fantastic. It is great that it has loose bases so that you can easily create mini Cheesecakes without making a mess trying to get them out. Also I love that they have straight sides. It takes the cakes from looking "nice" to looking professional and pretty giving a "wow" factor, especially for parties or when having friends and family over for afternoon tea! It also bakes the cakes evenly and it is so easy to release them from the tin. I highly recommend this product. I love it so much I brought two so that I can make 24 at a time! 5* to Lakeland!

"great tin to make mini cakes in"

star star star star star

Ordered this a while ago so I could make mini victoria sponges. Was actually first used by my 14 year old daughter in her food tech class at school to practice for one of her GCSE assignments. She followed the recipe on Lakeland website for mini victoria sponges. She overfilled the tins slightly so some looked like mushrooms but hey you live and learn with baking and the next time put slightly less in each one and came out great. At school she used butter to grease the tin but at home used baking release spray. Cakes came out of tin perfectly both ways.

My cakes don't stick on the sides, (greasing and flouring)but I have to be careful moving them (gentle use of pallet knife) off the bottoms which are stuck. I wondered if Lakeland were selling enough of these now to produce 2" baking parchment discs to put at the bottom, which is what I would use if making a large cake - butter and flour the sides and then a 9" disc in the bottom. I have used waxed jam discs in the past, but I think baking parchment would be better. Come on ladies, what are your thoughts? Brilliant cakes though! ;-)

Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. I'll be happy to pass on your suggestion of the 2" baking parchment discs to fit the mini sandwich tin, to our buying team.

"Didn't turn out"

hi I greased my new tin with butter and they still stuck. They also look like mini mushrooms maybe I put too much in the compartments?

Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry you're having difficulties with the finished sponge. We'd recommend greasing the tin and base with butter or some of our other reviews have used the cake release [ ref 4198 ] fill each hole only three quarters and use the base of a teaspoon to make a shallow dent in the top of the mix. This helps with a flatter top. Once baked leave the sponge to cool for approximately five minutes or more before removing from the tin.
