Silverwood Victoria Surprise Cake Set
Exceed expectations when you slice into a seemingly plain cake and reveal the delicious secret – a deep filling hidden within!
Cakes baked using these tins are sure to impress – with the raised bases in place, each cake is turned out with a baked-in well so fillings can be hidden from view until the cake is sliced, revealing the ‘surprise’. Chocolate cake concealing cream and black cherries, lemon sponge hiding buttercream and mandarin, coffee gateau disguising vanilla and walnut – the possibilities are endless!
A single layer makes a perfect sponge flan base, or for a more traditional Victoria sponge, leave out the raised bases. Made from anodised aluminium for even heat distribution. Grease, flour and line before use.

Silverwood Victoria Surprise Cake Set
This makes a great dessert if you simply fill with fresh strawberries and creme fraiche and cover the whole thing with a chocolate ganache. The tins tend to stick, so prepare them well before adding your mixture. Whatever you do, don't put them through the dishwasher. It ruins the finish!

Silverwood Victoria Surprise Cake Set
I recently purchased this item and at nearly £20.00 expected more to be honest. They looked the business. Used Cake Release (which is brilliant by the way) prepared all the areas carefully as I had read the review saying that the tins did stick. The "special" insert raised up during cooking and what I ended up with a broken mess of cake. Very very disappointed - my advice - stick to the sponge tins you may already have in your cupboard and use the £20 to keep you in Cake Release - much better spent - sorry Lakeland - I love your store - but this product is a flop!

The buyer has given the following handy tip: Line the centre of the bases with 6½" circles of greaseproof paper and then butter and flour the pans and bases to prevent sticking. Thanks for your time.

Silverwood Victoria Surprise Cake Set
After only owning this set for a week, I have made 3 different cakes and all have been a hit! The cakes pop out of the pans easily and bake evenly. A great investment, as I expect to have these for many years as I inherited my mother-in-laws Silverwood baking trays too.
