The easy way to make individual pies. Use the outside edges of the mould to cut pastry pieces, place in the mould with your chosen filling, then close to seal the edges. To complete the perfect pie, decorate with a pastry motif made with the mini cutter included.

“A waste of money

I have just tried this for the first time and find it a complete waste of money. I was using ready-roll pastry- admittedly a bit stretchier than the home-made variety, but not unusual. The cutter for the basic shape cut adequately (a bit of help needed with a sharp knife afterwards). The lattice side cuts not at all, and the lattice shapes would have had to be cut out individually by hand. I finished off the remaining pastry rolling a pasty by hand - just like usual! I am seldom disappointed with Lakeland products, but this is one I definitely would not recommend.

“Variable results

I found with ready made ready rolled pastry the mould performed ok. Cutting relatively cleanly to create the lattice shapes. But with other pastries including homemade, more often than not you'd have to cut out the diamond yourself like the first reviewer said. Also the cut bits of pastry are bit fiddly to get out of the mould. I've gone back to using a lattice roller which I find is much better, producing consistent results. I also find the mould size a bit strange - too large for an individual pie, yet too small to slice into portions.

“Awesome mould

I disagree with the negative comment left before. I tried this pie today and I am very pleased with it. I used a frozen puff pastry from a supermarket, and I dusted the mould and the pastry with flour, and the result was great. I would recommend using a rolling pin to make sure the lattice patterns is pressed on, and then using a fork or a knife to take out the remaining dough from the mould. Much faster than a traditional method, and my guests were very impressed with the look of the pies too. I am buying two more for gifts to friends.
