incredibly, ORKA have improved their mitt even further, making their latest version the best yet! The non-slip grip resists temperatures up to 250°C and the addition of a removable cotton liner means hands now benefit from comfort as well as protection when retrieving hot dishes from the oven.
Stain-resistant and waterproof, the mitt also protects against hot liquid, steam and splashes. Can be washed in hot soapy water, or even the dishwasher, and the cotton liner is machine washable.
Fits either hand.

Orka Silicone Oven Mitt With Lining
Having tried the original ORKA and its update soon after, I had great hopes for this, but it is HUGE (presumably only one size) and my hand (with fairly long fingers) just holds into the cotton lining while the silicone outer protrudes way beyond in the case of both the thumb and fingers, giving absolutely No satisfactory grip!
Maybe I should have tried Lakeland's own. I am desperate to get some really heatproof gloves as earlier ones in the fabric said to be used by the fire service just do not protect for more than a few seconds.

These are the best mitts I have ever owned, the only thing I would like is a spare set of inner cotton mitts so when one set is drying I can still use the mitts. I have emailed the manufacturer but as yet they have not returned my email.

Orka Silicone Oven Mitt With Lining
I have tried (and wasted money on) many oven gloves over the years that are either only partially effective or completely useless. The Orka looked a bit odd but I thought I'd try it. It's perfect - it grabs hold of anything no matter how hot and gives you an excellent grip. My only regret is I just bought one of them! I'm definitely going to get another and get rid of my other useless oven gloves. A great product!
