Lakeland Cupcakes and Cookies Book

I was disappointed with this book - it is called Cupcakes and Cookies but only has about 12 recipes in for cupcakes. The rest are cookies or special occasion treats! There are some good recipes in there, but some look quite complicated. I am not returning it, but I think the title is misleading as I would have thought it contained predominantly cupcake recipes. This is not the case.

At first glance this seemed to be a lovely little book with some unusual recipes. However having tried 2 recipes now, we are disappointed as despite following them to the letter the end result was not very pleasing. In particular the method on one, on further investigation, seems flawed. My daughter is the baker in our house and normally produces lovely cakes. A shame as we do not feel like trying others now. This was a present to my daughter from work colleages, no doubt hoping that she would provide some unusual coffee break goodies, alas I do not think this will be the case.

This book appeared to contain some really nice recipes. I have now attempted 5 of the recipes and each time the result was disappointing. I'm not a begginer and I'm now convinced that the recipes are simply of poor quality. I won't try any other recipes. May be my expectations are to high for a £5.99 recipe book?
