To roast a chicken with the minimum of fuss, just put your prepared bird in one of these small Roast-in-Bags, fasten loosely and pop into your oven or microwave on a suitable tray. There’s no need to baste the bird or joint as all the juices are kept in the bag, so there’s very little washing up to do afterwards and you can drain the juices out of the bag to make your gravy.

Our Roast-in-Bags are manufactured from a special heat-resistant polyester and can be safely used in a conventional oven or microwave without burning or melting at temperatures up to 200°C.
Messy spatters in microwaves and conventional ovens look awful and add to your cleaning chores, so using Roast-in-Bags will keep things clean and save you time. And, as all the juices are kept inside the bag, your baking trays and roasting tins won’t need much washing up either.
Just coat the inside of the bag with spoonful of flour, season your roast as usual, place it in the bag and close up with the wired-paper tie provided. Then snip a corner off to act as a steam vent and away you go. There’s no need to baste and your meat will brown as it cooks, even in the bag, but if you prefer a darker finish you can always take it out of the bag for the last 15 minutes.
If you’re cooking any dish en papillote, Roast-in-Bags are great and, because you can see through them, it’s much easier to tell when everything’s ready. Ideal for roasting a Mediterranean medley of vegetables too.
When microwaving vegetables, just add a couple of tablespoons of water per 227g for fresh veg and break up any blocks of frozen veg a little before cooking – there’s no need to add water to frozen vegetables, but you could add a knob of butter if you wish!
Marinades and Rubs
Ideal for any joint that you’d like to marinade or rub with spices before cooking, just fasten the bag around the meat and spices and/or marinade and when the flavours have had long enough to infuse, your Roast-in-Bag can go straight from fridge to oven tray and into the oven with no need to be unwrapped.
Wired paper ties are included for conventional oven cooking.
Heat-resistant to 200°C, they’re also safe for use in the freezer.
