Potatoes are one of the hardest things to keep fresh but Maggie Lyons from Bath has come up with a storage bag which keeps them at their optimum freshness for longer.

Made of two separate layers, Spuddybag has a mesh outer bag which lets air circulate so spuds stay firmer for longer, and an inner bag with a drawstring and a dark, cotton interior to keep light out, reducing the possibility of sprouting and turning green.

Spuddy Bag

At last I have somewhere in the kitchen to keep my potatoes without having a mess!
I like it. If tied tightly after each use, it keeps the light out, prevents 'greening' and doesn't encourage excessive sprouting. And it is attractive enough to sit in the kitchen and not have to be hidden behind closed doors.
Our potato consumption has gone up as a result of this item.... is this a good or bad thing? Maureen
