Really cannot fault this item at all! I would recommend only half filling the ring to ensure fully cooked right through on a low heat (NOT a product design fault) Crumpets did not stick or last long on the cooling rack after cooking!
Recipe used for breadmaker on dough setting is as follows:-
Half cup tepid water
Half cup tepid milk
1 beaten egg
1tsp caster sugar
half teaspoon salt
1 and 1/4 cups white bread flour

I brought these with the intention of trying out the Hairy Bikers recipe.
The product performed really well, the crumpets didn't stick and did shrink away from the edge.
Were lovely to use (though do retain heat quite well, which makes it a challenge to re-grease them between crumpets!) And were pretty easy to clean.
(However I would recomend cooking the crumpets on a low heat., as per the recipe provided with the rings. I tried a high heat they just burnt very badly)

I love crumpets and have always wanted to make my own so I bought these from your Bluewater store.
My crumpets did stick a little but only after the 1st batch, the lst attempts were greased enough but they need greasing after you've made the first 4. The rings are sturdy and well made as you'd expect form Mermaid. My only complaint is that the recipe is not really realistic. I found that my crumpets were not cooking on top or producing bubbles on top. I turned to Delia's cookery course and she recommends a much hotter pan and flipping them over to cook the top. I would also not add so much of the mixture as they rise a lot.
