I love this product but there are a couple of problems. Firstly it does move around a lot so I have to wedge it against my heavy chopping board in order to be able to press against the metal guides with the knife.
The second problem could be more of an issue in the future. When you get to the bottom of the slice you are cutting there is a plastic piece which the knife comes into contact with, this is now cut halfway through and I am expecting it to break some time in the near future as it gets more and more worn. As this was not a cheap item it would be better if this were made of a stronger plastic or made of metal.
As far as actually slicing the bread, it does do a great job and I find I just have to make sure the bread is slotted into the sides properly.
I'm rating it 3 stars because of the two problems.

I have been using this product for quite a few weeks and very rarely have an uneven slice. You do have to make sure that the bread is held firmly against the guide, but I don't find this a problem as one hand can hold the bread firmly whilst the other hand uses the knife; the base is non-slip. It even makes a good job of slicing fresh bread from the bread maker, which I didn't really expect. It's easy to clean and compact to store. Because of reading an earlier review, I make sure that I don't score the knife on the plastic base. I wouldn't like to be without the Evenslice now.

I've had this a while now and it is FAB. If you put it on the worktop it doesn't move around as you push the bread against the board and slice your bread.
As someone who is eating healthier and doesn't want bread full of additives , it is ideal, as I can cut thin slices & not the door-steps my hubby likes :-) Plus it's easy to clean and takes up no room, which is a bonus. Well worth the money.
