Cupcake Cake Tray

I purchased this tin a couple of years ago and have had spectacular results every time. A 6-egg mixture is perfect and no sticking if cake release is used. Fantastic, heavy-duty product, many more cakes to come. Definately worth the money.

Cupcake Cake Tray

Was pleased with the quality of the tin when it arrived - it's solid. I buttered and floured the tin and the cake has popped out perfectly both time I've used it, using a 6 egg madeira cake and a 6 egg chocolate cake recipe - both filled the tin perfectly, baked for about an hour with both recipes. One slight issue I found however was that the pointy top of the cupcake slipped in between the spars on my oven shelf, so the first cake I made was slightly lopsided. Put it on a cookie sheet next time and it was fine. The 2 pieces aren't an exact fit, icing fixed that though.

Cupcake Cake Tray

I bought the large cupcake mould to make my daughter a birthday cake as she is mad about cupcakes. I was dubious about the size of the cake, the relative cooking times for the top half and the bottom half and also whether the cake would turn out of the tin ok. In the event the tin was brilliant I adapted a chocolate cake recipe she likes, it cooked brilliantly and turned straight out of the tin with no sticking. The result was a very classy looking huge cupcake and a very happy daughter. This is the best baking tin I have purchased.

What a great cake tin!by Carrie Moffitt

Can I just say how much I love not only my new tin but also my new cake release! I have just tried out the giant cupcake with a 6 egg victoria sponge recipe, which was a perfect fit. The cake release made sure it slid straight out of the tin, in the perfect shape of the tin, with not a crumb left behind. Very impressed with both.

Great product - but its a shame!by David Bell

Cupcake Cake Tray

My wife was given one of these giant cup-cake tins for Christmas. She loves using it, as it makes lovely cakes, which she then gets great satisfaction decorating. So no complaints with the tin at all. But here's the rub. The resulting cake is big, by big, I mean tall. And Lakeland don't do a storage box big enough. In fact, no-one does, we have trolled the internet, asked in all manner of shops, and even written to Lakeland, but nothing. So, Lakeland, what you going to do about it? David

A note from the team: Thanks for your feedback. The cake, prior to icing and without filling, should be 18cm diameter and 17cm tall. We've checked and our 9lt Store and Save (reference 13881) and the 9lt Lock and Lock (reference 5441) should both be suitable for storing the finished cake in with room for a little icing. We will pass a suggestion to our buyers for a storage solution to allow more elaborate icings and fillings. Thanks for your time.

Cupcake Cake Tray

I bought this following unsuccessful attempts with a silicone mould & wish now that I'd bought this first. The cake is quite large & the recipe I use is an 8 egg one, (double my usual for a 7" round sandwich). It looks really impressive when decorated with frosting & sugarpaste flowers. The finished cake is nice to give as a gift. However one word of warning, after the top section sticking (very frustrating at having to discard it), I tried using cake release & this is much better than the spray-on oil you can get for preventing cakes sticking to the tin. Excellent product & lovely quality.

The cupcake tin is amazing, and its so much fun to decorate. Would recommend cake release as it does stop you struggling with getting the sponge out. Made two already and been asked to make many more for birthday parties etc. Definitely worth the money.

Cupcake Cake Tray

I really didn't like the recipe for this cake pan but it is a very well made product. Now I have adjusted it to a five egg mixture it is very moist and requires less cooking time. Only one major problem exists for me is that there are absolutely no products to carry it. I have made this cake four times now and each time have spent more stressing time working out how to transport it. Please could you sell cake carriers that support your products!!!

A note from the team: We've passed your idea for a cake carrier that fits the cupcake tin to our buying team. It's much appreciated, thanks.

excellent but a few problemsby doris balmer

Cupcake Cake Tray

I bought this just because I couldn't resist it and although it was a bit of an extravegance for just my husband and I, it's a quality tin that will last a lifetime. I have two niggles: 1. The recipe on the packaging is nowhere near enough to fill both sides. You need a cake mix that uses 9 eggs! 2. The top part of the cake is cooked quicker than the bottom part and to avoid getting the top overbaked, you'll need to try and tip the top part out onto a cooling rack and return the half baked bottom section to the oven. I've made this giant cupcake twice and have found that both these niggles were applicable each time. A fantastic, quality product none the less.

Impressive!by Lacey Laird

Cupcake Cake Tray

Used this for the first time with Cake Release with much anticipation but once baked it just fell out the tin! Not a crumb was left! I did use a different recipe to the one that comes with the tin and it worked fine though once baked the top was full but the base not. I will probably try the recipe it comes with next time after seeing the one review about how it filled the mould and made more cupcakes! I put jam and buttercream inbetween the layers and then piped pink buttercream around the top. I'm going to have to find an even bigger nozzle though! I then then dyed icing pink and cut out hearts which I painted with vodka to remove any traces of icing sugar and sprinkled edible glitter on them. I then used these hearts to cover up any joins in the buttercream piping!

Cupcake Cake Tray

Having looked at this for absolutely ages a friend and i decided to share one.I had first go last night and it is fantastic. The recipe is a bit odd but once you get around that it works well.I used cake release and the cake just dropped out.I decorated the base with a thin layer of chocolate butter cream and then white and chocolate fingers stood up all the way round, then the top with more butter cream and white and chocolate buttons.Looks brilliant and the recipient is thrilled.I wish more people would say how they decorated this cake to give ideas as this came from an earlier review and helped a lot. Well worth it if you are a cake baker.

Bought this tin a few months ago and the result was great though I did use less ingredients than suggested and was till a large cupcake. Only problem I have is that I cannot find a holder big enough to keep the cake fresh as it is a tall cake.

Cupcake Cake Tray

I bought this about a year ago now, I love gadgets and all things quirky, but it took me a long time to convince myself this was a good buy and not just a bit gimmicky. Well I was wrong, I bought it and it has been used for many things. It is used every other week for orders for friends for the original cupcake. I normally butter ice the cake and put chocolate fingers round the bottom and tie a ribbon around them. Looks fab, I have make it into a Christmas Tree which is very cute. It has been a hill, and I have just lent it to a friend who is going to make a duck (can't wait to see the end result). So basically, just go and buy it is is a great investment. Really, really easy to use, the recipe is fail save on the box, althought I have used other recipes and they have worked too. Never sticks. And lots of fun.

Quality Product - Endless Possibilitiesby Katy Thompson

5 stars out of 5

Cupcake Cake Tray

I am a Home Economist & cookery demonstrator, so when I saw the giant cupcake baking pan I was immediately captivated, it looked such fun & I could envisage lots of different uses (full marks to the other reviewer who came up with the Christmas tree decorating idea - brilliant). On opening the package I was immediately struck by the quality & excellent heavy duty weight of the product, always a recipe for success when baking - good thick quality baking pans are worth the money. Today I have made the recipe which came attached to the cupcake, with the melted white chocolate & 5 eggs. This mixture more than filled the two grooves in the mould, indeed I was able to make an additional 9 muffin sized cup cakes (50 mm X 38 mm) with the left overs . This is not a complaint, but meant as a useful guide to other purchasers. The cooked mixture is quite delicious, the inclusion of chocolate ensures that the surface produced on baking is extremely smooth & really highlights the shapes of the cake which will then show up clearly when iced. Should you have an Aga, as I do, cook in the baking oven, grid shelf on the floor of the oven for 45 minutes. Slide the cold plain shelf in after the first 20 minutes, at the same time rotate the tin. Grease with solid vegetable fat & flour prior to baking, leave for 10 minutes on removing from the oven to cool & the two halves will drop out perfectly. A wonderful cake pan, a sure fire winner. Your kitchen & house will also smell divine if you use the recipe which comes with the mould. Top marks Lakeland for sourcing this product.

ordered this pan and once it was received (i got sent a cupcake book by mistake but the great people at lakeland got me one hand delivered to my office as i needed it for a family birthday - well done lakeland!) - it was so easy to use and the results were great. this will be used for many birthdays to come - i used the cake release on this even though with nordic ware it wasnt probably required and cake came out easy & tin washed well. another great buy from lakeland.

Great Tinby Mrs Foxhall

Cupcake Cake Tray

I bought this cake tin because it was pretty and ideal for giving to friend for their birthdays. I had never baked a cake before in my life, but I followed the instructions that came with the tin and used Cake Release. I am pleased to announce that the cake came out perfectly. I don't know why the previous lady had a problem with Cake Release, but I can assure you it does work. The cake was admired by everyone who saw it and I would highly recommend this tin. It is a 100% show stopper.
