Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

I have had my Lakeland 3.5 litre slow cooker for only 3 days and have already odered one for my daughter and recommended it to 5 friends.Meat is tender, tasty and succulent and vegetables keep their form and don't turn into mush.

The best slow cooker at a fab priceby Julia

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

I love this slow cooker, it is cheaper then a lot of models but it does everything it should. I use this at least 3 times a week for everything from pot luck chicken to curry and soup. It is easy to clean and store and the settings are perfect for every meal. I have even done a breakfast stew left over night and it was perfect. Chickpeas left on high for 8 hours cook through and save a lot of money. This is a must have item and worth every penny.

One of the best things I have ever bought!by Mrs Williams

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

I wish I had thought of this sooner, but a new job with a commute and no time to cook prompted me to buy this and I haven't looked back. I bought the lakeland cookbook which has fantastic and diverse recipes - in fact Lamb Rogun Josh is simmering away at home waiting for me. So far I have cooked caseroles, chilli, tagines, chinese broth and curry in this amazing gadget. Cheap cuts of meat are best so it saves money too. I chop the ingredients in the evening and put them in a bowl in the fridge, throw it all in the cooker before I leave for work then come home to delicious supper. Perfect :)

Take two..........by Julie

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

I have the smaller one (reviewed), and now this one too. I have just done a bulk quantity of multi fruit compote using both at the same time, fabulous. This is a good all round average size. They look smart & classy. The switch feels very strong with a definite click and the light is bright enough even in bright daylight. I particularly like having an 'auto', as it gives whatever you are making a kick start and then reduces to a lower heat without you having to be there. What you can cook in these slow cookers knows no bounds & it's quite easy. Like the small one, I thoroughly recommend them.

Burnt too many times!by Mrs Harding

2 stars out of 5

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

I used my 'Croc Pot' for many years until someone dropped the lid so I had to buy a new one. I bought this about 6 months ago and am rather disappointed with it. The outside gets very hot and I have burnt myself once too often, the cooker is light weight so you cannot hold the lid and stir as it moves about so this is when I go to grab the handle and the side of my hand gets burnt! Also when slow cooking a chilli I found I had to stir it hourly as it started sticking on the bottom, also the screws inside the main body have gone rusty- Im afraid Im on the search for a better sturdier one.

Superb!by Annette

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

I am new to slow cooking, and had no idea how versatile they are! At the moment I am still experimenting but I have made superb cakes and desserts in mine so far - and the intention was to make main course meals! I bought The Slow Cooker Cookbook at the same time and that has been invaluable - I cannot for the life of me understand why it is poorly reviewed by some customers. My only thought on any future purchase would be the capacity - this cooker is oval in shape and so you are restricted by the width of the cooker (so for cakes and desserts you can only use a maximum 7" bowl or cake tin). Very pleased with this purchase and for the price it is fantastic value for money and a kitchen gadget which I know is going to be well used!

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

I have used this cooker several times and am pleased with the results, however the external chrome body does get very, very hot! It does have a sticker stating hot surface, but have burnt my fingers a couple of times - so be aware.

Worth every penny!by Gail

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

My gas oven is too hot at low temperatures so I bought this slow cooker. I am so glad I did as it really does cook casseroles at a gentle simmer. My husband was delighted with my first effort, a tender chicken casserole on a bed of chopped veg in a light creamy sauce. I am looking forward to using this excellent product a lot in the coming autumn and winter months. The only drawback is that these settings are not sufficiently clearly explained in the brief instructions that come with the cooker. This 3.5 litre cooker is perfect for 2-4 persons.

concernedby Ms Kanaouti

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

I am concerned about bubbles that come out of the lid after the first few hours of cooking time. I have read elsewhere that this is not supposed to happen, and I'm having second thoughts about leaving the cooker alone at home, without my supervision, when I have to go out. Otherwise I'm pleased, but I'm not sure whether this is not a fault of the specific appliance.

Super soup makerby Brian Sanders

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

My wife has used her slow cooker many, many times since I bought it for her. We used to have another cooker which was good but clumsy. This one is attractive looking and very effective. We use it mainly for soups, stews and hot-pots and it works wonders; and I believe it is economical to run. Very pleased we bought it when we did.

Best ever cookerby June

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

Got one this year and have found it one of the best things I have ever bought. Had to visit my mother in hospital for the last two months and it is so good to come home to a lovely smell from the Slow cooker. Have used if for lots of meat dishes and also to cook ham. The ham just melted in the mouth and I did not have to keep topping up the water like you do when you cook it in a pot.

Fabulous Time Saverby Linda Sunderland

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

This is one of the best items I have bought in the last two years. It makes wonderful soups and vegetarian casserole dishes with the minimum of fuss. I have never had a failure. I am happy to leave it on while I am at work and know my meal will be ready and waiting when I get home. I recommend the Lakeland Slow Cooker to anyone who likes to cook and is pressed for time in the evenings. I love the oval shape too.

Love it!by eva

Lakeland Brushed Chrome Family Slow Cooker

It is a great slow cooker. I was a little worried at first as it didn't have any reviews on the Lakeland website being a new product, but with their guarantee I knew I could take it back if I had any problems. I already have a large slow cooker that was too big for the two of us and had to be filled at least half the capacity, meaning that I couldn't use less than 2 kg of meat when making a stew. This size is perfectly suitable for a family of 4 or 2 people with leftovers for the next day.I have just tested it out and love the auto function. It is very responsive, the temperature is just right, you can't go wrong with this cooker. I'm so pleased I have chosen this one after reviewing few other models. The lid is tight fitting so even when the stew is simmering on high the steam stays inside without bubbling over. I'm really pleased with my purchase and can highly recommend this product.
