Best kitchen investment I've made” by Annie
I bought this Kuhn Rikon because I wanted to be able to cook dried pulses more quickly (normally they have to be soaked overnight and then simmered for ages till soft). Now they can be done in about half an hour from start to finish. It also makes fantastic stock and turns cheaper cuts of meat to melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Maximises the taste of everything and saves time and money!!

Regrettably I had to relinquish my old pressure cooker (c. 1982) as I had an induction hob fitted and the old one wasn't suitable. I should mention that the enclosed instruction leaflet for Christmas pudding was, in fact wrong. I spoke to a very helpful advisor at Rikon who said I was the first person to ever pick up on the error and very kindly emailed me the correct version. Anyway, reheated Xmas pud: perfect. Stock from the carcass 45 mins (instead of hours!) Just brilliant and highly recommended.

I have used pressure cookers from France, America and Britain but had never used a Swiss made one. So, what a wonderful discovery! It is the most efficient pressure cooker I have ever owned. I have used it in the last 12 months or so and made casserole recipes, vegetable soups and, even, ratatouille. Cooking times have almost halved and my time in the kitchen is very limited, so the shorter the better. I know a lot of girls who are quite fearful of pressure cookers, but with the Kuhn Rikon they need fear no more!
