i have had my tub of these ceramic baking beans for over 11 years and they are still going strong, and my pastry cases always turn out right. Just layer in some baking paper and pour these in, there are too many for most pie dish sizes, so you can make two pies at once if doing medium sized ones. The only suggestion i could possibly make would be to make the container outof a heatproof material as when the pastry is cooked you can not pour the beans right back into their container as it is plastic and the beans are obviously very hot! but thats me being impatient and i improvise with a large mug! Have recommended these and will continue to do so!
