This is by far my favourite kitchen gadget bar none. Beautiful jam, swiftly produced, minimum effort.Just knew it may have been too good to be true.There are some irritations. The instruction manual is simply dreadful.The recipes are rather limited.The teflon lining rubs off. I contacted Tefal about this last year after about 3/12 use of my much loved machine.It's just too expensive not to be fit for purpose! They were unaware of the peeling problem as of then but did offer me a new inner pan at a reduced price.This product is potentially so good it deserves a rethink in the technology

“Really pleased

You can't beat a lovely home made jam or marmalade! I have wanted one of these jam makers for ages as jam making always seemed to end up being so time consuming and messy. Well, I have now made marmalade, strawberry jam , apple and blackberry and currently have bramble jelly on the go! I can't believe how much easier it makes the whole process. More recipes would be helpful as I am not yet confident about adapting mine - especially jellies. Also, there is a special dessert programme, but only one recipe provided. I would love to know what else you could cook in it. Great machine though!

“Wonderful

This is a wonderful machine. Simple to use (once you have worked your way through the instructions). One of the best kitchen gadgets I've bought. The only downside is that it takes up a lot of worksurface and cupboard space.

“Jam Maker

I have had this product for a couple of years now and it has come into its own because we have just taken over an allotment. I adjust the quantities in the recipes to get a firmer set of jam. When making rice pudding I do not add sugar until last five minutes prevents sticking on the pan. Find it easy to use but I agree with previous reviewers the instructions are not organised logically. My non stick coatinf is ok so far.

I inherited my jam maker a few months ago, which had only been previously used on a couple of occasions. It as been a great success and I have made several batches of jam, but had difficulty with the jelly making,can't achieve the consistency. On a negative note like Val Dexter after the third use the non stick has started to come off, particularly around the area where the pale spins, so I do think it could be a regular occurance. Despite this the idea is innovative and time consuming for busy workaholics who still enjoy home cooking.

“Fantastic

Yet again, another fantastic product from Lakeland which does exactly what it says. Yes it makes small amounts but as you do not have to stand over it, this is not a problem, just make 2 lots. I LOVE IT and so do my family and friends who are enjoying the results!!

“Peeling non stick renders it useless

Given one as a gift. On the plus side I find it a good piece of equipment, on the negative side I have now had two jam makers and each one has started to shed it's non stick coating in month 13. I called Tefal they say it is not a known problem. I am calling them back to refer them to the feedback on this site. It is very expensive for only a years use.

I'm afaid I've sent my jam maker back. The jam was far too sweet & until I read the instructions I didn't realise just what a very short space of time you had to eat the reduced sugar jam. An expensive piece of kitchen equipment! (Thanks Lakeland for allowing me to return it!)

“Dissappointing

I found the results with this machine to be very disappointing. I researched a lot before buying it, but have found all the jams I have made using high to low pectin content, very soft set, having to add jelly cubes to it afterwards to get anything like a spreadable set! I wish I hadn't bought it. I got better results with a saucepan and jam thermometer.

“Jam Pot

The jam making machine is simply an electric pot which regulates the heat and time required. It is very simple to use but very effective. I am thrilled with mine and will use it regularly. Please can we have more recipes?

I was overjoyed with my Tefel Jam Maker and had been happily making jam and marmalade, what I loved was the cleaning function. A little damage on the middle column through sugar rubbing by the turning paddle occurred but I felt was wear & tear HOWEVER despite following the cleaning instructions to the letter and being very loving towards it I have just noticed the non-stick on the bottom of the pan has started to bubble and peel, I am really upset about this as I feel I can't use it anymore as I don't want to contaminate my jam with nonstick paint & for the price I expected better durability

i brought this item last year and it is the best kitchen item i have brought safe.easy it is a joy to use and get the rewards from the pots of jam you can make i am now thinking of buying another as they are not easy to come by

“Worked well - but a shame about the peeling Teflon
”

This was a gift last year from my husband, who thought it would make making marmalade easier. It did - it makes superb marmalade. But sadly, the Teflon on the centre post has peeled off into the latest batch, and I've had to throw it away - I'm not at all happy at the prospect of the family eating Teflon on Toast! The amount of use it's had has been quite limited, and I'm surprised that it has not lasted better than this. Tefal - please take note.

“Mixed Feelings

I have had this since it was first released and have found it to be easy to use (once going over the instructions many times!) Its quick and convenient to use, especially with young children around, it certainly makes jam making safer. However I am incredibly disappointed that the non-stick coating is coming off. It has been used but not overused and I don't like the thought that the coating is sat in my jars of jam! I would have thought that Tefal products would stand the test of time better.

“Another Lakeland Wonder

Bought this in the summer and have used it several times. Made jam, onion marmalade, and rice puddings. Great machine. Cleaning is very simple and easy. Only one complaint - I would like it to make a larger quantity of Jam. That is a challenge for Tefal/Lakeland.

“I love this gadget

This has been the best machine I have owned. It's not a gimic - bung in the ingredients, set the timer and go do something else. It beeps when the jam's ready. Job done. No working out what temerature or keeping plates cold in the fridge sampling and waiting to see when it sets... just simple, time saving and delicious recipes. I'd be very interested to hear about using it as a slow cooker ... I may never use my hob and oven again!

“Wow!

I spent my childhood and up until she died last year (aged 89) watching my Mum each January, slicing, de-pipping etc oranges. Not to mention the kitchen being a sticky mess! So it fell to me this year to make the marmalade for the whole family - ugh! Then I bought the Tefal Electric Jam Maker, and along with the Prepared Seville Oranges have just made the first delicious stress free marmalade - wonderful!!! Such a shame I didn't discover it earlier for Mum - she would have loved it, as I do. The only thing I would add is that I have done out the instructions from the 3 booklets/leaflets and printed them off to make it easier for next time. The flicking back and forth with the pages looking for the English bits was frustrating. Easy solution!

“Fantastic item
”

Bought this great jam maker as we had lots of strawberries all at once in the garden and I didn't want to spend an entire afternoon stirring a pan. The jam was perfect and have now gone on to make tomato chutney and onion marmalade - absolutely fantastic gadget which will not find it's way to the back of the cupboard, never to be used again!
