I have used this tin to make my guinness cake 4 times now and each time I get perfect, predictable results. I always use good quality grease proof paper on the sides and bottom. The recipe fits perfectly in this size pan. I like the deep tin because I leave the cake in the tin to cool over night and then next day I pour over the creme icing and pop it in the fridge. When the cake is removed it creates a very clean lined cake and topping. It has no leaks, it has not warped and the base is easily released by placing a tin (with a rubber cap on it) underneath and pushing down gently.
