Ribbon Microplane Gourmet Grater
Here at Lakeland we firmly believe 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', but sometimes a little fine-tuning does no harm. These new Gourmet Graters retain the clog-resistant, stainless steel blade of previous Microplane graters, but with the addition of an angled, non-slip bar at the 'table end'. A small change possibly, though combined with the improved soft-grip handle, the net result is better leverage and a firmer hold on proceedings. As we said, a little fine-tuning...

Ribbon Microplane Gourmet Grater
Grates hard cheese with ease, originally just got for parmesan but use it for cheddar too. Grating garlic and ginger is a breeze too. My old box grater is now redundant!! The non-slip bar at the bottom holds it firm. It's easy to clean and comes with protective cover for when not in use. A little too coarse for zesting citrus fruit so will be purchasing the fine grater too.

Ribbon Microplane Gourmet Grater
This is the best grater I've had (and I have got through quite a few). It doesn't slip, is easy to clean and is lovely and sharp. I grate everything from carrot to cheese to cabbage with it and it works a treat.

Ribbon Microplane Gourmet Grater
I bought one of these mainly because it was recommended in the video for making rosti which I make a lot. I didn't like the result. The grated potato was too fine and when wrung out it stuck together in a large clump. I managed to break it up into smaller lumps but was unable to spread it in evenly over the pan. When cooked all the 'strands' had merged and it looked more like fried mashed potato. So it's back to my old grater for rosti in the future.
This particular grater is really good for other things but in my opinion it shouldn't be recommended for making rosti.
