“waste of money
”
by Mrs WEBB
I purchased two of these bags some time ago,one for my son. We both found that the bananas lasted no longer than if we left them on the side so stopped using them. My son ended up throwing his away and mine is discarded in a cupboard somewhere .

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. Bananas over ripen in minimal warmth and spoil in very low temperatures. The bag keeps them cool enough to keep the flesh firm and stop over ripening but warm enough to stop the flesh chilling enough to spoil. You may need to wipe any excess moisture from the banana skin before putting into the bag.I'll be in touch shortly to help.
“It works - and the instructions are a work of comic genius
”
by Rachael Dunlop
1. This product works. 2. The closely typed A5 page of instructions are hysterical.

“Still going strong(ish)!
”
by Diana
Although not perfect, this is the best way to store bananas - Mine is ages old and I agree with nearly all the reviews - good and bad! The cord is a real pain, but I see you have changed the design to a drawstring - Lakeland listening to it's customers again! However I gather from later reviews that my other niggles with the product are still not resolved. How about using something stronger than standard bubble wrap? and could it be anchored to the bottom seam in some way to keep it in place better, as the lining shifts when the fruit is removed. And please make it bigger:

“Disastrous
”
by Stephanie
Maybe there is something wrong with mine but put fresh bananas in yesterday (when I received it) then into fridge and today the bananas are already going black - am I doing something wrong? By the inside of the banana I have just eaten these are going to go bad FAR FASTER than they normally would!

“Yes it works!
”
by Jacky
Don't know how or why, but it works. We now eat our bananas when we want and at our prefered stage of ripeness.

“Fab Product
”
by Nina
I've had my Banana bag a long time but it's saved me loads of time and money in not having to throw away bananas and being able to buy them in bulk. Just two things - it needs to be a bit bigger and eventually, the filling fails and all squashes to one side. I think I need a new one!

“An Excellent Product!
”
by Kirsty Arnold
I recently ordered this banana bag as I was so frustrated with my bananas getting overripe before I had eaten them all. This prolongs the life and bananas are as fresh as the day they were purchased, often two weeks later.

“It actually works but...
”
by Mrs Ryan
It actually works, but... It was quite expensive for something that is just a bit of bubble wrap in a fancy cover. The bubbles tend to burst if you drop it or it gets squashed in the fridge which happens often in my large clumsy family, so I can't see it lasting very long. When it wears out I'm going to try putting my nanas in a padded mail bag instead. If this doesn't work then I'll be buying another banana bag.

“no monkey business!
”
by Mrs Jones
I was a bit sceptical when I purchased this item, but I was pleasantly suprised when over a week in the fridge my bananas were still in a good edible state. Would definately recommend if you don't like quickly rippening bananas!

“Incredible....best item I've bought in years 5*
”
by
Thought this was yet another thing I would buy and not use, but NO!!!! it is absolutly brilliant. Hate when banana's go brown, but once put in the bag, they DO..... keep fresh, longest being over 2 weeeks. My only preference is just to keep bag in larder, instead of fridge, don't like banana's that cold, so thought they then wouldn't keep so fresh, but as advertised they do...... Yet another brilliant idea from the clever team at Lakelands, they never let you down, and are ALWAYS on hand to help :-)

“Poor draw string
”
by Anthony
This bag works fine when I got mine bought some bananas put a couple in the bag and left a couple in the usual place, after 6 days compaired them without a shadow of doubt the ones in the fridge in the bag still looked fresh, first class. Just one thing the draw string frayed a bit on first use I think if it was made of string like the bread bag it would be better than the nylon type it has now so because of that 9 out of 10

“VERY GOOD BUT HAVE TO BE RENEWED?
”
by Diane
I was really pleased with my banana bag, but have to say after a couple of years or so, it has got very smelly inside. Although I wipe it out with warm water frequently. I contacted one of the Lakeland team who advised to wash in bicarb. This got rid of the smell but after a few days of using the bag the smell was back.

“not impressed at all
”
by Mrs Merrett
I bought this thinking that I could keep the infinite number of bananas we go through fresher than they were staying in the fruit basket, and for longer. I hoped this would mean I could buy more when I went shopping, put some in the fridge and have enough to last the week. How wrong was I?! Not only is their lifespan not increased, but they actually blacken and go goopy and mushy twice as fast as they did before. The "insulation material" is nothing but bubble wrap. I've thrown out more inedible bananas since buying it than I did before I had it. Really unimpressed with this product.

“Banana Bag
”
by Janet Baker
I have just read a review stating that you can only wipe these bags clean. My instructions read that you can wash by hand in warm soapy water, which I have just done and it is now clean and fresh smelling. My son is taking 2 bags home to Hong Kong because he has seen what a good product this is.

“Wow it works
”
by Lorraine
We live in Denmark and fruit and veg are very expensive so we shop once every 2 weeks in Germany. Our family eat a lot of fruit, i have had bannanas in the bag for 3 weeks and they where perfect, only problem is the bag is a bit on the small side. Would it be possible to make it bigger? or maybe i should just buy 2 bags. I hope you have plenty in stock in sept as i will be home and have orders from my work friends for bannana bags and the fantastic potato bag looking forward to visiting your Beverly shop again your staff there where excellent.

“bananatastic
”
by fiona
I love my banana bag - we never used to get through the bananas until they were too brown, even though we seem to get through so many in this house. now they are perfect and cool from the fridge too. (my baby is teething right now so the extra cold bananas straight from the fridge are even better for her painful gums) i would recommend this bag to anyone. Fantastic

“Banana bag
”
by Mariella
It's two years that I own 2 banana bags. I keep one in UK and one in Italy. I wish it could hold 6 large banana and did not have to replace them because of mould spots that are now appearing. On the whole I am rather pleased with this item. I too have experienced brown banana but I've also experienced that the position in the fridge matter. Top shelf rather then bottom and not against the wall of the fridge gives good results.

“Fantastic banana bag
”
by Norman
We purchased a few of these fantastic banana bags for use at home in Western Australia where fruit ripens quickly if not refridgerated. It's true ! the Banana bags do keep their contents in great shape for over a week. Only downside is problem with cleaning the bag liners which have black spots now after several months use. Tried cleaning with plain water, then weak detergent, even diluted bleach which did not harm the bag but just cannot get clean. The bananas still keep OK but would like to hear of a tip on cleaning the Banana bag. Norm.

“Not for me
”
by Julie
I bought one of these a while ago after reading the reviews. I'm sorry but it doesn't do what it says as the banana's just turn black and look unsightly, so I've given up on it.
