i had seen these and thought they were a good idea, but i am disappointed about the product. the eggs get stuck and they feel a bit rubbery. to get the white cooked the yolk ends up being over cooked.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry the poach pods weren't suitable for you. For best results customers have suggested to lightly grease the pods with a little butter and to keep the saucepan lid on during poaching to ensure the egg poaches evenly. We'll be in touch to help

An absolutely fantastic product. I have been trying to poach eggs for ages and they never work properly, I tried these today for the first time and they are fantastic! Absolutely love them.

Dissapointing Productby Penelope

Green poachpod®

I purchased these a month ago having seen so many positive reviews. I find the eggs stick to the pod even after greasing, I have tried butter & oil neither worked. The pods themselves are also hard to clean as so much egg seems to stick. The eggs take ages to cook and then you end up with a hard yolk and soft watery white. I also found taking them in and out of the water difficult, would have bought youir tool for doing this however feel disinclined to throw more money away as I find the eggs cook better the old fashioned way in a pan of water.

At last, I can poach eggs perfectly, these pods are brilliant. I do not recommend you purchase the pod lifter though, please read the reviews on that first. Lifting these pods out with a slotted spoon is the easiest and safest way.

Makes poaching eggs a dream. Don't use oil and that makes them a little harder to clean but I don't mind the elbow grease and I love my perfect poached eggs.

No use to usby Deborah Newton

Green poachpod®

Oh dear -I bought these as we love poached eggs but dislike water left when putting egg into boiling water. But the eggs take ages, stick to the pods and I still get water as they are so hard to get out of pan. They really have not lived up to expectations.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. I'm sorry to learn of the problems you've had. You may be boiling too vigorously. The pods should be placed in water that has been brought to the boil and then lowered to a simmer. Perhaps placing the pods in the water with a ladle may stop them filling up with water. It's also important to keep the lid on the pan. I hope this helps but I'll be in touch shortly.

Love 'em!by Mrs Bain

I've been using these for about 3 years now and they're brilliant. I find oil works a bit better than butter, and my big blue splatter guard (Lakeland, I do believe!) is better than a saucepan lid as the steam drifts away. But find your own preferred system for perfect poached eggs every Sunday morning. All I need now is a heart-shaped poach pod, for the romantic in me!! I rarely fry eggs now so the heart-shaped fried egg thingy is not getting used.

Not too badby Jennifer

Green poachpod®

I recently rediscovered the joy of poached eggs on toast, however the egg whites always went everywhere when I poached them. I saw these things and bought a few. They're pretty good but have a few downsides- they need to be greased or the egg sticks to them and they take considerably longer to cook. Other than that they're fab.

Terrible Poached Eggsby Joanne

1 stars out of 5

Green poachpod®

I bought these last year and have tried many times and they always take ages to cook, get soaked in water and are hard and rubbery. I started poaching my eggs in disposable coffee filters which works great in 3 mins. Now Lakeland have made 'poachets' which are the same as coffee filters!!!!! These pods are so so bad, no chef would recommend them.

What am I doing wrong?by Jacqueline

Green poachpod®

I was seduced by the clean bright look of these pods when shopping in a Lakeland store and bought them for myself and my daughter. Both of us find them completely useless: fiddly, eggs sticking, water getting in unless we are extremely careful; we have both gone back to the tried and trusted method of swirling simmering water in a pan. I don't know what we are dong wrong but it really is one of the very rare occasions that a Lakeland product fails to live up to my expectations. I would never recommend them to anyone!

Useless poachpodsby Sarah

1 stars out of 5

Green poachpod®

We have been using similar egg poaching pods for some time but after several years they need replacing so we bought a pair of these together with the handle for getting them in and out of the water. They are totally useless, as soon as you put them in the boiling water they tip over and spill the egg into the water. Have tried several different ways with the water boiling or just off the boil and always the same result. First thing we have ever bought from Lakeland that is totally useless.

A note from the team: Thanks for your feedback, we're sorry to learn that you've had a little trouble with the Poach Pods. The pods should be placed in water that has been brought to the boil and then lowered to a simmer. It may also help to use slightly smaller eggs (if you're using very large farm eggs). We'll contact you to put things right.

Soapyby Katherine

Green poachpod®

I got fed up of poaching eggs in the pan and having to drain them on kitchen paper. These avoid the problem of 'wet' eggs, but if you wash them in the dishwasher there is a definite taste of soap in the next batch of eggs. I think they're ok if you hand wash them but my husband disagrees and has gone back to old fashioned poaching.

Snotty eggsby Peter

1 stars out of 5

Green poachpod®

These pods dont really work Putting a lid on the pan causes the steam to condense on the pan lid and you end up with water and top of the egg and end up with a snotty looking white and a hard yolk. I mean no chef would ever tell you to put the lid on the pan when poaching an egg the conventional method

Fantastic!!by Karen

Green poachpod®

I have just used my poach pods for the first time and had to come online and review them. I was put off a little bit by the negative reviews but I can't understand how anyone could fault these, if you follow the instructions you get perfectly poached eggs in minutes. A must for all those who, like me, are fed up chasing eggs round pans of hot water!! Thanks Lakeland!

Use a lid!by Margaret Gloss

5 stars out of 5

Green poachpod®

Only read quick instructions and waited and waited while they slowly cooked! Loved the end result, then sat down to read reviews, will use a lid next time and save time and fuel. Can Lakeland put "use a lid" with the description?
