“Mind your fingers!
”
by Mrs Preston
I bought this hoping it would allow me to steam my new daughters vegetables quickly and healthily.. but I am extremely dissapointed with the product as it collapses and either your fingers or your veg end up in the hot water! I have tried it in all size of saucepans but it doesn't seem to be effective in any of them and I have yet to get the veg out without it collapsing. A big dissapointment as it promised to be such a useful product.

“Too wobbly by half
”
by Mrs Jennifer Ruth Holden
I bought one of these mainly because I love red. I've sent it to the charity shop. It has no stability when hot and it's impossible to prevent your vegetables from falling off all over the place.

“Excellent product!
”
by Judith
I use this nearly every day - even in a conventional steamer to add an extra tier on top of other food. I serve directly from it in the pan and remove when empty with a fork through the handle if necessary.

“Great product!
”
by Jane
My mother bought me this steamer and I'm delighted with it. It doesn't fall apart like my old metal fan steamer. It doesn't scratch my non-stick saucepans. It is better for smaller quantities and so is ideal when I don't want to use my big tower steamer. I agree that you can't easily lift it out without the food falling off, but this is a minor irritation and I just drain food in the normal way. Maybe four handles would be better. It takes up no space in the dishwasher.

“Steamer
”
by Mrs LYNNE URIDGE
I have had the expanding steel one for years and decided to replace it with the silicone one. I thought it would be easier to clean yet still fit into most of my pans. It does, but is very floppy and unstable when it is hot and I find it very difficult to handle when it full of food. I don't know if it needs more handles so you could gather it up more. I have since bought another steel one and the silicone one is at the back of my cupboard.

“Silicone Steamer
”
by Howard
I purchased this steamer basket for occasional use for which it is very useful. It can suffer from the problems that others have outlined but as it sits in the saucepan it makes good use of the steam and cooks the steamed food very well unlike some steamers that fit badly on the top of a saucepan. So used with care it is very useful. As it does not scratch the steamer can be stored inside a saucepan to save space and is easy to clean.

“Very useful steamer
”
by Mrs Densham
I like this steamer basket and use if quite a bit. The flexibility comes in hand when using in the same saucepan as a stainless steel basket. If care is taken when lifting food doesn't fall off the edge. Very useful, nice looking and wonderful to wash and dry (as opposed to my old folding steel one!)

“softens when hot
”
by matthew
This product is fine if you have exactly the right size pot, too big and the steamer will soften when hot and slide into the pot, too small and it won't fit and will be difficult to get in and out without food falling off. I think it kind of needs to be more of a dish shape. Handles are good and looks nice.

“Great Product!
”
by Sarah
I am extremely pleased with this steamer, and find it a vast improvement on my old metal, folding steamer. As it is flexible, it fits different size saucepans which is useful; it is very easy to clean; having handles at the sides rather than a central one (like the metal versions do) makes it easier to use and more versatile (eg could be used for steaming fish); there's no need to lift it out of the pan to serve the veg, simply drain the veg as usual and spoon out directly from the steamer - no problem. Thanks for a great product!

“silcone steamer basket
”
by peter
recently bought one of these steamers, unfortunatley it does not perform very well, when used in a saucepan to steam it becomes to soft when lifting out ot the pot, food rolls off too easily, does not come close to the folding stainless type of steamer in use.
