“Not what I hoped for

I bought these to make cupcakes for a friends wedding, but using brown sugar in the recipe made the cakes a little darker (but not much as you can imagine) and this made the design impossible to see. I thought at least people would see the design when they peeled them, but when I tested the batch I found that the peeled case was so greasy you couldn't see the design at all!
Tried now with several recipes, even one with only 100ml of oil and no other fat - the grease problem remains. I now have 50 unusable cake cases.
