Kenwood Electric Carving Knife

I bought two of these knives just prior to Christmas, one for my daughter and one for me. Mine was to replace one I'd had for about 20 years and was brilliant. However, this one is a complete let down. I used it over Christmas to carve the turkey and couldn't get it working properly. I don't know if the blades were in place correctly but I tried endlessly to reposition them but it made no difference. Slithers of meat worked in between the blades which made it impossible to slice the meat. It was really hard work and this was on cold meat too which should have sliced much easier. I gave up in the end and used my traditional knife so I can't see another reason why I would want to try again - not a good buy at all.

Kenwood Electric Carving Knife

The knife cuts fairly well but rather light weight. Also blades sometimes do not lock in. The product needs to be more robust but their appears not to be many alternatives.

Kenwood Electric Carving Knife

We bought this knife to replace our previous one which, after five or six years, had come asunder; as in the rivet that connects the blades had broken. We were otherwise very happy with it. My sister and two brothers also use this make and model of knife. Unfortunately for us, we hadn't made the previous purchase from Lakeland, or perhaps we would have been easily able to get replacement blades.

I wouldn't be without my Kenwood Electric Carving Knife. It is so easy to use and to keep clean. I can now carve meat to whatever thickness I need and it´s marvellous for slicing bread.

Kenwood Electric Carving Knife

I first bought an electric knife to facilitate cutting terrines - recommended by my French cooking magazine. The Kenwood is OK for this, but makes heavy weather of anything else. I have tried it on bread - it does not like crisp top crusts, won't grip, so I turn the loaf upside down, and needs pressure ( allegedly unnecessary) to get to the bottom of the loaf. I have tried it on meat and poultry - rather a ragged finish. I think the blades are too thick a structure, and on the short side to deal with a cottage loaf or a whole ham. A frozen food blade was mentioned in the brochure enclosed but not included. It is very noisy. No star really. This was not my first electric knife, that one was purchased for the terrines, and got blunt eventually, but it was very cheap and I hoped yours would be better. It is exactly the same.

what a let downby Rachel

Kenwood Electric Carving Knife

I bought this knife at Christmas as a replacement for a 10 year old electric knife. We have a roast dinner every week, and I think this knife lasted three months. It was not very good for carving meat, in comparison with my old knife, and after three months (approx 12 uses) it emitted a cloud of black smoke and refused to function again. Kenwood is usually a reliable brand - I have a hand mixer that is more than 20 years old - and I was therefore very disappointed with this product.

Kenwood Electric Carving Knife

I bought this knife to replace one that we have had for 30 years. My husband uses it each Sunday to slice meat. He finds the new one is not as comfortable to use as the old one but, as we have a static caravan we have taken it there. The new one slices fine

Kenwood Electric Carving Knife

I bought this as I suffer from RSI, so gripping a knife is not always easy - but was sadly disappointed and after three attempts put it away and sharpened my good old carving knife again. The blades slipped a little (so concerned about further usage) and not only was it noisy but the cutting edge for both pork and beef very ragged - so did not look good on the plate either. Certainly not up to Lakeland's usual high standards, nor my mother's electric carver which she has had for a number years (also from Lakeland I think!)

Don't Waste your Moneyby Mrs BEST

Kenwood Electric Carving Knife

I bought this electric knife to replace my 12 year old electric knife as I was unable to buy new blades for it. After using the Kenwood 3 times I put it away in the cupboard and retrived by old one - no comparison. I only use it for slicing bread and the Kenwood even sounds laboured when trying to do this. Dangerous if your cutting crusty bread as it slides before the teeth grip so you must make sure your fingers are well away from it. A one star rate for this product is one star too many.
