Magic Hob Liners

These are a big saver both of time and mood - they are so easy to wash and reuse and they save time to get angry that the cooker hobs have to be washed AGAIN. We have apartment in N. Cyprus with gas & electric hob & I have shown them to so many people who did not know they exist or how they work. Full 5 stars to them - every time.

I have to agree these took a bit of time to cut and fit to my range(i got 2 sets) it looks like a patchwork quilt now!! and they catch fire easy very disappointed and won't be replacing them-a waste of money

A note from the team: Thanks for your feedback. It's best to cut the hole a little bigger in diameter than your hob to ensure it doesn't come into contact with the flames. I'll be in touch shortly.

Unlike other reviewers I don't like these. They burnt and scored my new cooker on the second time of using and trying to clean them without a dishwasher is a nightmare- they are hard to clean and then don't know how to leave them to drain to dry. I shall not be replacing them except with good old elbow grease - think this will be much easier!!

I have had these replaced once already but the 2nd set now has holes in them and charred edges. An excellent idea but could be more durable. Also they seem to retain stains that I can't remove.

Magic Hob Liners

I bought them in store a while ago and thought they would help keeping my hobs clean. I found them very fiddly to cut, difficult to keep them in place as they kept creasing up in places. The holes weren't big enough and even after cutting to size, they caught fire. Very disappointed.

It may be helpful to use one of our fine tip freezer markers (reference 2844) to mark out where you need to cut before cutting. We'll contact you to help.

Sorry Lakeland, nice try but they really don't do the job that well. I very carefully cut them out and they fitted quite well but because the material is light and flexes rather than being floppy they ended up burning. Using an extra large frying pan seemed to spread the flame and even on low the material burnt. If the fabric was heavier and more pliable they might work. Great idea and nice try but it needs more development.

Not so magic hob linersby Mr Christopher Joannou

I cut the liners to size and put them in position. The hole for one of them was not large enough and when the gas was turned it caught alight. Apart from this, they look tacky and they are more trouble than they are worth. It's much easier to clean the oven!

HOB LINERSby ANGELA

After having had the liners for three months I finally got round to fitting them. I found the liners flimsy and difficult to fit. I opted for these precut liners for ease of use but they still needed cutting. On all but one of the burners the pre cut lines were visible and as the material was so thin this rumpled up and so dirt and grease could go under the liner . My cooker hob certainly did not look like the illustration. My advice is to consider the size of your hob rings and to take into consideration any contours of your cooker top before purchase. I do not consider them value for money

Try before you buy?by Mrs A Brannan

These are not suitable for my hob. Its burners have a fixed plate under the diffuser and flame protector preventing the liners from lying completely flat. Problem is amplified by the pan holders' weight on top. I would have realised this had I been able to read the fitting instructions before buying. The warning not to heat to 300C deg is unhelpful. How do you measure the heat of a hob flame?

I found I had to cut so much of the middle away or the liner caught fire that they don't catch the spills properly. They are a fiddle to fit and have to be readjusted everytime before I cook. Water gets underneath and they look so inelegant that I wish I hadn't purchased them. The worst product I have ever bought from Lakeland!

My hob is black glass and I would love to use these but they are too bright. Why can't they be made in the same colour and fabric as your oven bottom liner?

I think these help but do not totally work. I bought mine about a year ago and since moving house have decided not to continue using them. They have got black spots from burnt on food which I can't wash off and then looks dirty when put back on the hob again. I wonder if doing them in black may help this problem. Also they don't protect against water spills and when I've removed them to clean them often I find dried on spills underneath. They can also be difficult to fit round some of the hobs and just don't look very nice.

I read all the reviews, good and bad, and decided to take a chance on these because the idea is such a good one and I hate cleaning my hob. They are fiddly and flimsy, move about in use and look really strange. I'm going to persevere with them for a bit longer to see whether I get used to them, but I don't think I shall buy a replacement set.

Disappointed!by jodie

After having a new oven and hob I firstly brought the oven liner which I was thrilled with, I then bought the hob liners hoping for the same standard as the oven liner but was left disappointed! They were fiddly to cut and a disappointing fit, they don't sit flat which means spills still get on the hob surface, which defeats the object of the liners! I've purchased several Lakeland products but sadly this was my worse purchase.

Wish I read the reviews before purchasingby Rebeca

I have never been let down by a Lakeland product before. I brought this product thinking that it would save a lot of time scrubbing the hob, however they have been fiddly to cut to size to prevent them from burning when the gas is on and now they look untidy. They also slip so I have managed to burn two of the four so they look even worse. I am very disappointed with this product. I feel like I have wasted my money.

Not up to Lakeland Standardby Mr Paul Clews

Magic Hob Liners

We bought this product after being very pleased with the magic oven liner ,however we are bitterly disappointed, the hob liners are flimsy, because they are individual spills flow underneath, the cut outs are not large enough for some of our burners so cutting is required they then look unsightly. We would not recommend this product, Lakeland please take note and produce a liner similar in quality to the oven liner.

Waste of moneyby c

This product seemed great. Suits all hobs, easy to clean, etc but I am extremely disappointed as it is not the case. I did read the reviews and it sounded too good to be true. The product had to be trimmed to size, I only did one of the four and it still doesn't fit. The liner will actually touch the flame when positioned and because it is so slippy it will not stay in place when the pan holder is in place. It does not lie flat on the cooking surface because it actually slips out of place when the pan holders are set down. I would not recommend this product at all.

Great product but ...by Nathalie

I recently bought these liners to give as a present to my sister who used aluminium foil to do the same job. Enticed by the reviews I read online, I thought that these liners were the answer to her prayers: easy to set up, clean, easy on the eye, economical and environmentally friendly. However, less than 2 months later, she had to discard them as they fell apart. I am reluctant to buy her replacement ones as they are rather expensive for a usage of less than 2 months! If these were made of silicone like the oven liner which I have used without problems for years, they might be so flimsy.

Bought the hob liners recently, wasn't too impressed, too thin and very fiddly to clean, also mine have already started to tear, good idea but would be better being a bit thicker and maybe on a roll to cut out size you need.
