    If you've been turning out wholegrain loaves that are as heavy as a brick, dough improver is the answer! It gives a lighter loaf with a better texture and crust, and makes bread more consistent with fewer air pockets. Transforms wholewheat and rye mixes, or recipes that call for heavy ingredients like fruit or cheese.

    "Best Before Date"

    To all the people complaining about the 'use by date' please note that it is actually a 'best before date' and not a 'use by date'. The tub I am using at present (August) has a 'best before date' of February 2016 and I am still getting excellent results. I have been using this product for a few years now and I am delighted with all my bread! Also to the people complaining they have purchased the product and been disappointed to find it's not suitable for white bread, it does state quite clearly on the tub it us not recommend for use with white flours unless they contain heavy ingredients!

    "Excellent Product"

    I find this a good improver for all the breads I make, whatever the colour - the trick with white flours is to use far less than suggested on the pack as the flours don't need much help anyway unless they are full of extra ingredients. With brown breads the enhancer gives a good rise without producing a "cotton wool" texture in the bread, something that many enhancers seem to aim for. An excellent and versatile product, whether working by hand or with a bread machine. P.S. the enhancer doesn't simply cease to work at midnight on its supposed expiry date - it can be used far longer.
