"Actually works !!"
Always grilled or fryed bacon, grill took ages and presumably used lots of electricity; tried this in the microwave and it actually worked, bacon sarnies in 3 minutes, and a great saving in electricty.

I've just tried this with the separate splatter guard I also bought and found that it works well once I'd found out the right length of time to cook the bacon. As there are no instructions with it, and not a lot of information from other reviewers, I thought I'd share my trial and error findings using a 900W microwave: 6 minutes for 4 back rashers will result in juicy bacon with crispy fat. Adjust the time for fewer rashers. As for cleaning, I soaked it in hot water for about 15 minutes and had no trouble cleaning it with a Dishmatic fillable washing up brush with sponge.
These are good. My advice is to use them with bacon at no higher a setting that 700W. they obviously have more utility uses other than crisping bacon, such as completing the task of melting the cheese on toast etc
I had hoped this (and the cover I bought at the same time) would be useful for cooking bacon in our caravan, but it is too large for the turntable in there. It does seem to work though.
Having been unable to find a worthy replacement for a previous Bacon crisper for years, I resorted to buying second hand from the USA - the only place I could find them. UNTIL I FOUND THIS! - just the best thing ever - well done Lakeland. I have tried various options out there only for them to be returned having melted with the heat of the fat. This is more than a match for my last crisper and every home should have one! Personally I use a couple of sheets of kitchen roll to help absorb the water that comes out first and drain off mid cook. Especially good for streaky bacon.
