“Exactly what I needed

I was put off when I saw the poor reviews of these bottle pourers so I emailed the sales team at Lakeland to check whether they fitted their sloe gin preserving bottles and was told they did. I bought a pack and have been delighted with them. I now have a non-drip opening on the bottle so my husband can drizzle home-made chilli oil on his pizzas with ease. I was curious to see why people said they didn't fit bottles so I tried them on other bottles in my pantry and found them to work well on most bottles. Perhaps the early reviewers were just unlucky?

“Pour spouts a disappointment
”

I purchased this fit into regular sized oil bottle. The bung fits OK, but keeps riding up out of the neck of the bottle. There appears to be no grip. Very disappointed...back to the drawing board.

“One more disappointed customer

Wish I'd seen the reviews before I bought the pourers. They don't fit any bottle I use. Why do Lakeland continue to stock products which are clearly not fit for purpose?

“My 2nd set

I have had some bad experiences with bottle pourers, namely rust! I was thrilled when I found these & even bought a bottle of sherry vinegar which I quickly transfered to another bottle, I now have the perfect salad bottle for the table!

“I love these

This was a purchase that if I had read the reviews I would never have bought. They were an impulse buy one day in store and I love these. maybe I have just been lucky since they fitted the 2 bottles that I wanted them for exactly. I love that I don't have dribbles of oil or wine running down the bottles now and also that I can easily control the amount I have poured. I like them so much I have bought another 3 packets last time I was in store and again they fitted the standard sized bottle necks. If I have a bottle that it doesn't dit I will decant the contents into an empty wine bottle which they fit perfectly.

These worked well at the start but as with others the oil wont pour now. I have to just take them out to use the oil which defeats the purpose. Shame.

To prolong the life of the rubber on the kitchen bottle pour spouts, please store them in a cool dark place and avoid drying them out.
“poor product

I would not recommend buying this product. They do fit my bottles and I had been using them reasonably successfully for 4 months before the oil disintegrated the rubber inside the pourer and clogged it up. A real shame as it would be really useful if it worked.

I'm surprised at the previous negative reviews. Admittedly the spouts don't fit all bottles but with a little initiative in finding the right size bottles and decanting your favourite oils, vinegars and dressings cooking becomes much easier (no more unscrewing - just squeeze 'n' pour). I love them and now have over a dozen or so spouts fitted to an array of coloured glass bottles on a round aluminium tray. Many friends and family have commented on the look and have since copied the idea.

“Unused

I too was disappointed with these as they do not fit any of the various branded salad dressing bottles that I bought them for. They remain unused. Am really surprised to see that they are still being sold by Lakeland despite all the negative reviews by customers!

“Disappointing

Bought these from a store to replace the standard, uncovered pourers that I had on my bottles of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. What a disappointment - the stoppers are a poor fit and wobble about all over the place. I fear that the pourers will pop out when the bottle is inverted. The pourer works fairly well with the vinegar; the flow is a little fast but at least this can be regulated. The performance with oil is woeful though. The pour hole and the air flow hole are both too small and the viscosity of the oil means that the flow is immediately reduced to a dribble. You should redesign with a slightly larger bore size and then market the large bore and small bore separately as one for free running fluids and the other for viscous fluids.

“Disappointing

I experienced the same problems as earlier posters. The stopper does not fit the oil bottles, so I bought a bottle especially to fit it. However it only pours at a trickle and now the rubber inside the tube has started to disintegrate, so I've removed it.

“A bit hit and miss

Unfortunately olive oil bottles seem to come in a vast array of different sizes and this spout does not adapt to fit anything other than one size. It also did not fit a ceramic oil bottle on which the original cork fitting had disintegrated, which was my original reason for purchasing the product. It would be useful if Lakeland could supply a small, medium and large sized version (I would class this as a medium as I needed a larger and smaller one to work with different bottles) that might then fit a greater majority of bottles. I have had no problems with poor pouring, but I only managed to get through one bottle of oil before I discovered my next bottle had too big an opening to fit this item (and the former bottle had infuriatingly already been recycled), so it has not really had the opportunity to clog up.

I bought these for my bottles of olive oil - they fit perfectly, but from the beginning they seemed to pour very slowly, with only a trickle of oil. A really good idea, but just not quite up to scratch yet.

“Don't pour very well
”

Unlike some other reviewers, I had no problems fitting these to my oil bottles (1L glass ones from Sainsbury, refilled). However, I found that they poured really badly. Mostly just the thinnest of trickles, but often the flow would stop completely despite shaking, etc. IMHO, the secondary "air" channel is just too narrow and gets blocked.

“Which bottle?
”

I would like to know which bottles these things actually do fit. They're no good with my Bertolli olive oil bottles, which they were bought for. Having said that, they seem like a nice product, but it's impossible to give a proper rating since I haven't been able to use them.
