Hardly ever review items I purchase but this Gadget does exactly what it claims !
Love Mango but hate the preparation, this + the 3-in one Pinapple Corer has made fruit salad preparation a joy !!!

OXO Good Grips® Mango Splitter
This product has worked perfectly for me, but I am the kind of person who always reads the instructions! If you stand the mango stem side down, with the longer axis aligned vertically (see their illustration), the mango splits beautifully. I then use a curved grapefruit knife to remove the flesh from the skin, and chop it with a sharp knife. Sorted.

I thought I was just being extravagant when I bought myself this; I've managed perfectly well for years just wrestling with a knife to cut round the stone! But after my first use I'm an absolute convert - it really is so simple to use and left me with two perfect halves of mango to serve, plus a little extra flesh to nibble off the stone whilst nobody was looking! And none of the mess and stickiness of trying to carefully pry it apart with a knife or spoon.
