OXO Good Grips® Mango Splitter

I am unfortunately very disappointed with this product. I have tried it on many mangos and have not split one yet. If the stone is bigger than the device it can not cut through it and the blades are very blunt so it bruises the fruit when pressure is applied and does not cut it. A shame as I had hoped this would be a great time saver.

Yet another great fruit companion! It takes a bit of getting used to and you have to remember to cut it the right way! It cuts the mango perfectly leaving 2 halves ready to eat with no mess. An absolute must - take a chance you will not be disappointed!

OXO Good Grips® Mango Splitter

I can't stand mango myself, but my husband likes it and if it weren't for this fantastic gadget he'd never get to eat it. It looks like it'd be difficult to get it in the right place but it's not, it seems to magically align the fruit as you press down, leaving the flesh attached to the skin ready to cube and cut off.

We love this and use it all the time. Our kids love mango, and this saves us so much hassle. The only thing is, I regret washing it in the dishwasher, even though it's dishwasher safe, as the blades have dulled over time, and I've heard that it's the dishwasher detergent that causes this.... With the blades dull and the mango on the ripe side (therefore, soft), it can be tricky to get the blades to properly break through the skin (once you've broken through, you're fine, so I sometimes use a sharp knife to pierce the skin first). If it weren't for the splitter, we wouldn't eat mango!

OXO Good Grips® Mango Splitter

This has been a really good buy and saved me a lot of time and mess. With one simple movement you can cut a mango in half, with little flesh left on the stone. Tip: if the skin is too rubbery for the blade go to through, just get it started at the top with a sharp knife. Some extra large mangoes are too large for the splitter, but I would always try the splitter first before using a knife.

OXO Good Grips® Mango Splitter

This is a fantastic little tool. I make smoothies regularly and this makes a simple job of chopping up the mango. The sharp blades slice easily through the skin without having to apply too much pressure. The shape removes the stone in one clean movement without wasting too much of the fruit in the process. I would recommend the mango splitter to anyone who has had battles with mango stones!

OXO Good Grips® Mango Splitter

I purchased the above product a while back and despite numerous efforts not just my own but of other members of my family, we've had no luck and returned to using a knife. It's disappointing as the OXO Good Grips range is usually extremely effective and has won a great reputation, but this one sadly doesn't cut the mustard. We found that the blade although extremely sharp just doesn't slice through the skin of either a 'just ripe' or even the 'ripest mango', we were left with just a bruised fruit! Avoid disappointment and save your pennies for a really good sharp knife. Sorry OXO you need to get back to the drawing board on this one!

OXO Good Grips® Mango Splitter

I eat a lot of mango and only wish I had discovered this gadget sooner. The instructions are clear, and the blades slice easily through the fruit to cleanly remove the stone, leaving just the flesh which can then easily be cut away from the skin. Really simple to use, and much less mess than trying to remove the stone with a knife. Fab item!
